Smart phones mobile offices to goSmart phones are not really the smartest way to reduce your phone costs unless used for business purposes! For the small business owner and for salesman they can reduces costs. Programming and the type of operating system is going to be the most important feature that you want to look for. Think about how you interact with your office computer and then try to match this with your wireless device. Palm OS is probably best known for its easy to use PIM applications, stylus-based input method, and multitude of third-party applications. Another advantage of this operating system is that it's already been tested out and used for the last couple of years. BlackBerry OS is extremely e-mail focused. BlackBerry devices hook up to corporate or Web-based e-mail servers for up-to-the-minute e-mail. You could do this with other software, so for this smart phone its not that big of a deal. It's also very easy to read and send e-mail on any BlackBerry.
They can do many cool things but do you need all that stuff if you are not using it for business purposes
If you just use your cell phone to make and receive phone calls then you don't need to pay for all that extra programming. If music in your priority then I would rather have an ipod to download my favorite tunes. Instead of wearing my battery out on my phone. Most people only need call display, text messaging, maybe call waiting and free evenings and weekends. This is the most common cell phone deal and if you think about it all you really need. If you keep to the basics then your plan will be much cheaper, besides if you drop a smartphone or pda think of the cost of replacing it if it is not under warranty. As far as gps and finding your way around on your phone, how many guys out there would really use that feature if anyone was looking. Most guys would rather stay lost and pretend they know where they are going. In this day and age of lower wages and high gas prices you really need to concentrate on lowering your overall monthly expenses. These are the only things that we can control to a certain extent. Think about you long term costs when looking for cell phone deals because they are not really free. Keeping it simple is still and always has been the cheapest way to go and that includes your cell phone.
